All I needed to do was go into the registry and delete just one drawing file in the recent file list that had been saved to an external hard drive- and now it works great. That hard drive was not currently plugged in to my USB port - so perhaps ACAD aborted when it could not locate the drive that had the file.jbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-59713390973274568082011-11-29T22:41:00.950-05:002011-11-29T22:41:00.950-05:00Deleting this specific key is (or should be) harml...Deleting this specific key is (or should be) harmless but cation should always be used when using the registry and it is good practice to backup any registry key before changing or deleting it.JTB Worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02249678064305703202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-26031538669455983332011-11-29T10:27:25.644-05:002011-11-29T10:27:25.644-05:00Deleting the registry key did more damage on my sy...Deleting the registry key did more damage on my system then it fixed. I spent all day yesterday trying to "repair" & "reinstall" Acad. I ended up doing a complete uninstall & fresh install which seems to have fixed both issues for now. While this may work for many people I wanted to voice a word of caution to be prepared to uninstall & reinstall if it does not work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-75519238093950594212011-07-07T02:14:20.191-04:002011-07-07T02:14:20.191-04:00Thank you, deleting the regeister key works wellThank you, deleting the regeister key works wellsenthilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17389412378555625653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-47776739720112073582009-05-21T00:45:37.230-04:002009-05-21T00:45:37.230-04:00Deleting the recent files in the reg. key worked.Deleting the recent files in the reg. key worked.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-29701840413241384622008-10-01T17:40:00.000-04:002008-10-01T17:40:00.000-04:00Thanks for the permissions issue tip! Thanks for the permissions issue tip!JTB Worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02249678064305703202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-85711375008133760392008-10-01T17:32:00.000-04:002008-10-01T17:32:00.000-04:00I actually had a similar error, but it was the "de...I actually had a similar error, but it was the "debug c++" when trying to open the file Open menu item.

It turns out it was a permissions issue in the user profile's applications data folder for AutoCAD/AutoDesk stuff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4011252463639388552.post-66679731029329824482008-08-02T09:08:00.000-04:002008-08-02T09:08:00.000-04:00Restored commentAnonymous said...
