Remember Vista Windows Explorer window size and location

In Windows Vista you might be annoyed by having to resize and move windows since they keep forgetting the size and location.

Here is the tip. Hold down the CTRL key and close the window. Next time you open Explorer (Computer) it will remember the size and location. The same works for other windows like Control Panel, User Accounts, Help and Support and many more.

Didn't work for me either. I'm running Vista Business. As soon as I restart the machine and reopen Windows Explorer, it defaults back to the original size.

If anyone has a fix for this, could you please eMail me at plst@sbcglobal.net?

  2. Thank you. It is amazing to me that such a basic useful feature requires you live without using it for years and then go on the Internet and find out it is something as simple as this. The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing at Microsoft. It's probably documented somewhere or stuck in committee while a bunch of brilliant people have theoretical marketing debates, get nothing done and drive home in their porsches.
