FLEXnet options file tip

I got the following question regarding the FLEXnet/FLEXlm OPT file and want to share the solution.

“I have a timeoutall statement in my options files but it does not record in the log file.”

TIMEOUTALL 7200

Checking the debug log it says that it is using the options file but still it does not work.

11:43:46 (adskflex) Using options file: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\License\adskflex.opt"

In the end the solution was found. “I got the options file timeoutall to work. The file had to be forced to saveas ANSI format in Notepad. Somehow it wasn’t saving correctly.”
