Useless feature in AutoCAD field?

There is a Field name introduced in AutoCAD 2007 named LispVariable. When selected it shows all Lisp variables available at that moment. Cool! But how useful is it. If you open the drawing and not have that variable and updates the field it will show ####. Have you found any use for LispVariable?

I suppose if you had a lisp routine loaded with s::startup that set a global variable, that field may have some use.

It may have if you really have control on what you are doing but if you open that drawing in LT, DWG TrueView or other programs without AutoLISP you are in trouble.

"jtb world" -- I agree with your comment, it's designed to fail.

However, if you know these limitations, you may even be able to use this to your advantage.
