How to make MagiCAD network licenses report correctly

Several customers of JTB FlexReport uses the great MagiCAD products from Progman for Building Services (HVAC, piping, plumbing, sprinkler and electrical systems) CAD/BIM work in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture and Revit.

After their latest release 2010.11 I got reports about a FlexNet/FLEXlm problem where only one license was reported in use even though more licenses were used. Example of magicad vendor daemon features involved are magie2, magihp2, magir2, magiree2, magirep2, magirev2, magispr2 and magiv2.

I contacted Progman about this and quickly got this confirmation of the problem and a workaround.

“Yes, we are aware of the error in our licensing, which causes the mentioned “feature”. You are able to get rid of this error by returning and activate their MagiCAD licenses. After this you are able to monitor license usage situation correctly.”
