How to change the Title in AutoCAD

This program is used to change the text in the title bar of the AutoCAD application Window. It works for AutoCAD 2011 as well as older AutoCAD versions too.

I had an older version but never had any reason to update it for AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD 2011 but instead of reinventing the wheel when I was asked about an update for 2011 I got ok from Lee Ambrosius, HyperPics: Beyond the UI so here is ChangeTitleForAutoCAD.zip that he made.

  1. Jimmy,

When I load the changetitle.lsp I get a pop up with the VBA window and the error.

    Compile error:
Function or interface markeas a restricted, or the funtion uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic.

I had admin rights on my Win 7 Ultimate with Autocad 2009 and Autocad 2011.

I copied the program files to the Autocad main folder before the appload.

It works fine on the same machine with Autocad 2011.

Thank you for the fun tool.

  2. I just tried it with AutoCAD 2009 and Win 7 Ultimate and it worked fine. Not sure why it did not work for you though.
