AutoCAD 2006 introduced a new functionality related to dimensions. The command is aidimfliparrow and it lets you flip the direction of an arrowhead. This is sometimes useful as the image shows.
The command is available if you select a dimension and right-click on it. Make sure that you select the dimension on a point that is close to the arrowhead that you want to flip. Only one arrowhead at a time can be flipped.
Note that ADT 2006 doesn't have this command on the right-click menu.
A minor bug is related to this command. If the aidimfliparrow command is run from the command line it accepts multiple objects but it only works if you select one dimension object.

I'm currently having problems with this feature. It works and flips the arrow and all, but it leaves a line on the side it flipped. I don't want this line (and I can't imagine anyone would) and would appreciate any help in getting rid of it (don't want to explode).
EX:
----->---<-----
flip the left and it turns to this:
-----<---<-----
flip both and it turns to this:
-----<--->-----
and what I need is:
<--->

One thing that might help is to create a custom block as arrow and then set the arrow size to very small.

This has to do with the way you pick points one and two to dimension. When you try to flip the arrow on the second point you picked, the mentioned outcome is what you get. However, when you flip the arrow on the first point you picked, the line is gone, like we all want. This has something to do with the misc. components that make up the dimension line itself, in combination with the text leader, just how the programming works I guess. The only fix I have for it is to revers the order of the two points you pick so the arrow you want to flip is the first point you pick, then it will work as desired.
